A quick weekend note: On Friday I appeared on New England Public Media's The Rundown with Carrie Saldo to discuss my recent "Welcome to the (Nuclear) Berkshires" investigation, as well as other topics making news this week with a group of terrific regional journalists.

Welcome to the (Nuclear) Berkshires
In Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the rebuilding of America’s nuclear arsenal is bringing a surge of money and jobs—and little public discussion.

I'm hopeful this will become a regular opportunity to bring Reason Gone Mad's in-depth reporting to a broader statewide audience via this futuristic "radio" technology—which, as I understand it, uses a combination of magic and sorcery to invisibly send people's voices across time and space.

You can listen to the audio or watch a YouTube recording. The nuclear Berkshires segment begins around 26:42.

Mass. social media ban, recreational cannabis, nuclear arms production
Carrie Saldo and panelists discuss ballot initiatives to ban social media use among teens and recreational marijuana use, hurdles faced by a housing authority to open up affordable housing, nuclear arms production in Pittsfield and more.

Onward,
Bill
