Sad and Pathetic, Actually

From what is currently the MOST POPULAR STORY on the Washington Post's Web site. More popular than the breaking news that more than 3,500 American soldiers have now died in Iraq. Just ridiculous:
Paris Hilton was released from county jail early Thursday because of an undisclosed medical condition and will serve the remainder of her sentence confined to her mansion in West Hollywood.
And this is just choice:
During her brief stint in jail, Hilton was visited by her attorney and her psychiatrist, according to the investigative gossip website TMZ.com.
Jesus. The "investigative gossip website"? How ridiculous. Right now Google News shows nearly 2,000 stories about Paris Hilton, and about 600 about the Iraq death toll. It's beyond parody. It's beyond belief. It's, it's, it's... Well, you know what I'm talking about.

You can still ask newspapers not to show cartoons of the Islamic Prophet or cartoons of the Secretary of State looking down her nose at the likes of Kanye West for playing the race card. Now really, how could you not expect them to cover the juvenile antics of rich peoples children, has-been pop stars and totally sensationalize the suicide-like excesses of wannabe movie-star drug addicts.

“ I recoil in horror at the foulness of thee, at the squalor and the filth and the misery” (lyrics from God’s song, Thank you, Mr. Randy Newman,) Wouldn’t it be nice if the big media companies would stop caring so much about politics and start caring a little about our people! Maybe care a little about the citizens that make this great country work, instead of worrying about the rights of do nothing ner do wells and illegal immigrants. Instead of pandering to the socialists and their old tired useless, failed and morally bankrupt ideas of engineering the perfect world by destroying individual initiative. Instead of promoting the taking from the people that work for a living and giving the sweat of their labors to those who refuse to sweat for anything, perhaps they could get out of those offices that are swimming in red ink because of that pandering and get out into the communities and expose the people that are causing the foulness, squalor, filth and misery. Oh I forgot, that wouldn’t sell nearly as many soap flakes, video games and “Creative Financing Schemes” as the aforementioned pandering sells now would it.
